I originally purchased this direct box because I saw it being used at my local church, and I've had this box for over 5 years, and it hasn't failed me once. The construction is simple and solid, and nothing feels loose or fragile inside or outside of the unit. As a simple product with a simple feature, I would recommend this direct box to anyone...
Overall, this is a great passive direct box if you have stereo audio sources, such as from a laptop or cd player. It's simple to operate even without ever reading a manual, it's durable, and it just works.
I've been using a few of Boss DI 1s for the 2 year2 and have found them reliable and overall quite useful. I use it mostly on bass guitar, running this DI box to a hardware preamp. I have also used it with a variety of keyboards and pick ups for stringed instruments like violin and cello. It won't color your sound and is generally pretty sturdy....
While I do think that the Seventh Circle Audio T15 is a good place to start in building your preamps from Seventh Circle Audio since they are the cheapest, if you have experience building gear at all it’s still probably worth it to step it up and bit and start with a few of the more legit modules. The T15 sounds good for sure and the price is r...
If you are going to go for a Seventh Circle Audio preamp collection, the C84 needs to own at least one or two spots in your module. It’s amazing that you can have so many different colors in one casing and you won’t want to miss out on having this one in there. It’s about average in price compared to the other Seventh Circle Preamps which is s...
Chandler Limited is truly a special set of preamps. Even if you don't know anything about Quad Eight, as most really don't, Chandler stands on it's own as a set of world class mic preamps for all applications. They're versatile and simply sound great. I'd only used this for the first time recently and it's definitely my new favorite set of pream...
The Brent Averill 1064 is a great choice if you're looking for a top of the line single channel preamplifier and EQ. For me it will always be Neve when it comes to consoles and preamps - I just think they have the most depth of any preamps out there. Of course having different colors is necessary for different applications, but if your rhythm ...
I've been using the Octo Mic for about a year and I've found it to be both a great direct input box and mic pre. I have come to know Universal Audio as a company that makes top end gear that really sounds great and is easy to use. The price of the Octo Mic is pretty reasonable, and isn't overpriced at all in my opinion. If you are looking for a ...
If you have a Seventh Circle Audio preamp collection and don't have a J99, you better get on top of that sooner than later. Once you've got the chassis, putting together your own collection is the fun part as you get to pick and choose what modules you'd like. Of course there are other great options that you should also cover to have a differe...
A-Designs Pacifica is truly a special set of preamps. Even if you don't know anything about Quad Eight, as most really don't, Pacifica stands on it's own as a set of world class mic preamps for all applications. They're versatile and simply sound great.
