If you are a pedal collector you will like this pedal. It has lots of features and does what it says by essentially having 2 pedals in one with a tube driven pedal setup. If you are looking for 1 good versatile pedal this can also work for the same reason. It is a bit pricey at about 400 dollars so you may be better off just getting an amp. If y...
While I'm not of the school of thought that you need to have a graphic equalizer in your chain, I can definitely see the worth of the Maxon GE601. It's great to have some extra control for your sound, but for me I'm usually okay the EQ on my amplifier and the tone knobs on my guitar. Still, this can be very helpful if you use it right. I don'...
The Maxon OD-808 Overdrive is a great pedal and a good deal if you're looking for a transparent overdrive pedal that can still give you a good amount of crunch and drive. It's actually quite reasonably priced considering that it's a Maxon, although it is of course a reissue. I'd definitely be curious to hear it compared to the original as I've...
Maxon has been making overdrive pedals since the 70s. Many of the classic overdrive tones you have heard over the years probably came from a Maxon or a Tube Screamer manufactured by Maxon. If you are looking for an evolution of that classic overdrive pedal sound the OD-9 Pro+ overdrive may be what you are looking for.
This pedal is one that every guitarist should own for an additional texture of gain when needed. It is a great tool for adding that little extra ‘something’ to your base sound.
Fantastic pedal, very versatile, even with the limited range on the tone control. If they could fix the range of the tone control, it would get a 10 all around from me but maybe the tone control is what gives it it's mojo.
Small box, good rice, great sound. What's not to like? Well, the volume drop is annoying. If you can deal with that, this is highly recommended
My favorite overdrive...period. Not balls out distortion but overdrive. The down side...the switches are horrible, every Ibanez or Maxon pedal I have ever had with those switches fail, rather sooner than later. Also the pots are of questionable quality I replaced both of them after they failed. But since I love the sound of it enough...
If you're looking for a good overdrive pedal, I recommend checking this out. These things are very reliable, sound great and are fairly easy to come by. About the only downside is the price. They're a little more expensive than something like a Boss SD-1 or an Ibanez TS-7, but if you're not looking to modify a pedal, I recommend buying this. ...
While not the cheapest pedal out there, the Maxon AD-9 Pro Analog Delay is going to be worth the price if you're looking for a top tier analog delay pedal to use on a consistent basis. I think it just depends on what you're doing with the pedal, but for professionals who are recording and gigging, having a Maxon AD-9 definitely makes a big diff...
