It's good for the money, but because it's Behringer don't expect it to hold up forever. I have two of these units in my studio, but they'll be replaced with far superior (and far more expensive) dbx compressors soon. Because these aren't very transparent, and during tracking it's easy to miss some of the small details, I would avoid using this...
The biggest issue with the H8000FW, aside from the price, is that it's extremely expensive. If you can find one used, it will be worth picking up, but until then, it's hard to recommend used. However, if you do have a deep pocketbook, this should be one of the foremost devices you should try to get your hands on. There's no other device on th...
I love this box. You can get tons of sounds with digital gear these days but sometimes it's more rewarding to just concoct something yourself with analog devices. I already loved the Moog pedals before getting this but the amount of new sounds I got after having it are definitely worth the cost. The Moog delay in particular is greatly enhanced b...
Overall this is one of the best delays I've ever used and definitely the best analog delay I've ever had. I've owned quite a few like the old ibanez/maxon units, the memory man, some DOD stuff and they all have their place but the Moog has the most sounds available. As far as the price well I can't really say as I got mine for about half of the...
This pedal is surely not for everyone but for me it's perfect. The price may seem steep but after touring the factory and seeing how the workers are treated I would say the price is perfect. This is not built in a massive plant like other manufacturers. All of the people I met at MOOG were musicians and seemed to really care about what they were...
What I like most about this unit is it's flexibility and the fact that you can use two of the effects at the same time (dual engine processing). The only thing I am not impressed by is the compression but its no serious fault, its just not my first choice, but still usable. Brand new this unit is $150. You will pay that same price for a decen...
If you can find one of these units in working condition, buy it. Beware that they could break, and TC no longer supports them. If you're willing to assume that risk and need the absolute best EQ ever made, check this out. The spectrum analyzer alone is worth the price of admission. I can't believe TC no longer makes something like this.
If you're looking for a half rack effects processor, your choices are fairly limited. Given that requirement, I'd say this is a device worth looking into. However, there are other units out there, albeit full rack units, that are better. I much preferred the Rocktron Intellifex for delays, reverbs and chorusing sounds. However, that's a 1U d...
The Inward Connections DEQ-1 is really the ultimate mastering EQ. It's no longer being made and I don't think too many of them were made to begin with since it's so expensive. You can still probably get your hands on one however if you're really determined and have a ton of money, as you would need even if you were to buy one new. That being ...
You really can't go wrong by picking up an Empirical Labs Distressor EL8. It's one of the best modern compressors out there and virtually every professional studio has one. It's not overpriced and can be incredibly versatile. It's great to have a set of these on hand, which we do in most of our rooms, for stereo mixing. If you're after a mod...
